Foundation 03 / Territory
Your bedroom is 5 degrees too warm. It is costing you 20 minutes of deep sleep every night.
Territory: the external world you build and defend deliberately.
Territory is everything around you that has no will of its own — your thermostat, your calendar, your notifications, your commute. The question is whether you designed it or it designed you.
You will recognize at least one of these
You get three weeks dialed in at home, then a week on the road erases all of it.
You reach for your phone before your feet hit the floor, every morning, without deciding to.
Your calendar is full of commitments you would not accept again if someone asked you today.
What inherited territory actually costs you
Your defaults are set against you
The fridge, the phone, the chair. Environmental defaults making every good decision harder than it needs to be.
Progress never compounds
Three weeks dialed in, then ten days of chaos. The protocol did not fail. The environment absorbed your gains.
You are being shaped without seeing it
The five people you spend the most time with set your behavioral baseline. Proximity is a stronger force than intention.
Space
bedroom: light, temp, sound
Elevated bedroom temperature suppresses slow-wave sleep by reducing the core body temperature drop the brain needs.1 Too much light at bedtime blunts melatonin. Too much noise fragments deep sleep. Environmental design problems with measurable solutions.
We audit the bedroom where recovery happens and remove friction structurally, so the right behavior is the path of least resistance.
Instrument: light, temp, sound in bedroom.

Calendar
calendar, defaults, protected blocks
Your calendar is the single largest environmental structure in your life and almost nobody audits it. Not time management — structure: how fragmented your day is, how many blocks are protected, and what percentage of this week's commitments you would accept again if asked today. Most men are between fifty and seventy percent.
Instrument: time blocks moved vs. held.
Inputs
information diet, screens, notifications
Your first waking action sets your nervous system for the day, and for most men it is a screen within ninety seconds. Morning phone check and total screen time are among the cheapest things on this site to fix.
Instrument: morning phone check, screen time.
Travel
commute, geography, time zones, rhythm
This is where most protocols die. Not in a bad week at home. On the road. Time zones, hotel rooms with blackout curtains that do not close, client dinners, a 5am flight after four hours of sleep.
Travel is a condition the protocol is built for, mapped at intake with your actual travel pattern.
Instrument: nights away, travel plan adherence.
How Territory connects to the other three
To Biology
Fixing a thermostat outperforms most supplements.
To Sovereignty
A calendar full of commitments you would not re-accept is a sovereignty problem.
To Lineage
You cannot be present in hours you did not defend.
